Learn To Unwind The Belly with Chi Nei Tsang

(Oriental Visceral Bodywork)

class

Chi Nei Tsang (pronounced chee-nayt-song) is a traditional Oriental visceral bodywork that was introduced to North America only 25 years ago. CNT works to balance and invigorate the internal organs gently and effectively, and improves emotional and physical digestion

The three pillars of CNT are breathwork, applied qigong, and beautiful manual technique – all three are addressed in each exhilarating two day workshop. Instructor Peter TS Melnychuk presented a 5 hour version of Unwind the Belly to the 2005 AMTWP National Conference and received a student evaluation score of 4.7 out of a possible 5.0

(Levels 1A and 1B count toward certification with the Chi Nei Tsang Institute in Oakland, CA.)

The Fundamentals Part 1: The Basics

(formerly Level 1A)

level1a-expanding-the-breath

The Fundamentals Pt. 1 is set up to provide you with the skills to do a basic treatment. In it you begin with the basics of Chi Nei Tsang: connecting with the energies of heaven and Earth (thru qigong), building qi (life force) in your own body, and transmitting that qi (chi) to your client. The focus of Level 1A is the Metal organs, the organs of elimination — the skin, the lungs, and the large intestine.

There is an emphasis on the expansion and relaxation of your client’s breathing; this increases their awareness and sensitivity. You are taught to never go thru a barrier. You also learn the amazing protocol of Opening the Wind Gates — a means to release stagnant life force that has been trapped in the body.

There is no prerequisite for the Fundamentals Part 1 .

Upcoming Fundamental Part 1 classes
    • 15-19 February 2012, Vancouver, BC, (Pts 1 & 2) taught by renowned instructor & author Gilles Marin (Director, CNT Institute) - an opportunity not to be missed! For more info, or to register go to http://www.silentground.com/chineitsang.htm
    • dates TBA, Sept 2012, Edmonton, AB, with Peter TS Melnychuk

The Fundamentals Part 2: The Wood & Earth Organs

    (formerly Level 1B)

    Skin Detoxification

The Fundamentals Pt 2 builds on Pt 1, and presupposes a certain level of palpation skills and sensitivity learned in the Basics. Pt 2 focuses on protocols and ancient touch techniques to work with the energies of the Earth organs (pancreas, stomach, spleen, duodenum) and the Wood organs (the liver and gall bladder). There are also intermediate techniques to help free up the diaphragm.

You also learn the Microcosmic Orbit, invaluable for refining your life force and opening your intuition; as well as the Six Healing Sounds, which help transform any negative energies (you may have taken on from your clients) into vitality. After completing the Fundamentals Pt 2 you have the skills to tailor 3rd, 4th, and 5th sessions for your clients specific vulnerabilities.

The Fundamentals Part 1 is the prerequisite for the Fundamentals Part 2.

    Upcoming Fundamental Part 2 classes
      • 15-19 February 2012, Vancouver, BC, (Pts 1 & 2) taught by renowned instructor & author Gilles Marin (Director, CNT Institute) - an opportunity not to be missed! For more info, or to register go to http://www.silentground.com/chineitsang.htm

      Visceral Anatomy: An East/West Perspective

Do you approach the viscera with curiosity but trepidation? Would you like to develop a holographic sense of the internal anatomy? Would you like to build your palpation skills and be able to treat the core effectively in the gentlest way possible? Here is your class.

The two day Visceral Anatomy class (directed not just at CNT practitioners but at any manual therapist) focuses on the topography of the internal organs, noting easily remembered bodily landmarks to help locate specific structures. Diagrams and photos are punctuated with hands-on lab time. We endeavour to develop the felt sensation for each viscera structure, and learn how to treat by finding and encouraging the specific “orbit” (motility, or inherent embryological motion) of each internal organ.  The eastern perspective traces the 12 oriental meridians, the rivers of energy transporting visceral energy through the body; as well as the dermatomes, areas on the superficial surface of the abdomen that can be palpated in order to treat specific organs.

There is no prerequisite for the Visceral Anatomy Class.

      Upcoming Visceral Anatomy Classes
      • Dates & locations TBA 2012
